Frequently Asked Questions

  • For social workers specifically, fifty (50) hours of the 100 hours required for supervision can come from group supervision. However, the group size cannot exceed 6 supervisees.

    Weekly group supervision access is included in our cost of individual supervision so you may participate as often as you like and add to your supervision hours.

  • 1.     An active LMSW license; 

    2.     Documentation of twelve academic credit hours clinical course work from a social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (6 of the 12 academic credit hours may be obtained from a BSW program);

    3.     Two years, consisting of not less than 104 weeks, of at least 3,000 hours of supervised clinical social work experience in direct service to clients. Half (1,500) of the required hours shall consist of face-to-face client contact;

    4.     Performed in not less than 2 years and not more than 6 consecutive years;

    5.     100 hours of periodic direct face-to-face supervision while obtaining clinical social work experience which is obtained under a *written contract for supervision; 

    6.     Supervision in the assessment, formulation of a diagnostic impression, and treatment of mental disorders and other conditions and the provision of psychotherapy; and 

    7.     Social work supervision provided by a Board approved supervisor who is licensed as a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical.

    • Minimum 3 years

    • Minimum 3,000 hours supervised clinical experience

    • At least 2,000 hours completed after degree conferral

    • At least half must be under a Board-approved LCPC supervisor

    • Remaining half may be under a Board-approved licensed health occupation professional (LCSW-C, LCMFT, Psychologist)

  • (i)   A minimum of 60 graduate credit hours in an art therapy program accredited by the American Art Therapy Association and approved by the Board; and

    (ii)   Not less than 3 years, with a minimum of 3,000 hours, of supervised experience in art therapy approved by the Board, 2 years of which shall have been completed after the award of the master’s degree.

    (3)   The applicant shall provide documentation evidencing the completion of 2 years of postgraduate supervised experience as required by the Board.
